Required
1
An iPhone running iOS 16 or later
The Workbench is iPhone-only for this round. Almost any iPhone from the last
several years will do — if it can run iOS 16, it can run this.
2
An Apple ID
The one your iPhone uses for the App Store. TestFlight — Apple’s system for
testing pre-release apps — works through it, and your invitation is tied to that
exact address. See Accepting your invite.
3
An invitation from us
An email. If you have not had one, you cannot install the app — it is not on the
App Store and cannot be searched for.
Strongly recommended
1
At least one wearable
A watch, ring or band that tracks something. Any of Apple Watch, Oura, Polar,
Fitbit, Samsung or a Withings scale will connect. One is plenty — see the
canonical user.
2
Its manufacturer app, already set up
The Workbench reads data your device has already synced. If your Oura app has
never been opened, there is nothing for us to read. Set the device up normally
first.
Optional
- A set of bathroom scales. Even ordinary ones — you can type the number in. Weight unlocks more than you would expect, including Metabolic Age.
- A blood pressure cuff. A single reading gives you a Vascular Age. You do not need a smart one; hand-logging is fine.
- A continuous glucose monitor. If you use Ottai, it can feed the Workbench directly. Other CGMs are not supported end-to-end yet — see Continuous glucose.
What you do not need
- A Vitality Tracker account set up in advance. The app creates one as you sign up, and you will never need to visit it anywhere else.
- A subscription, a payment method, or a promo code.
- Any technical knowledge whatsoever. If a page here assumes something you do not know, that is our mistake — tell us and we will fix the page.
How long setup takes
About ten minutes, most of which is waiting for your phone to ask permission questions and you tapping Allow.Start installing
