Weight

Type the number. Kilograms or pounds, following your units setting. Why it matters more than it looks. Weight feeds basal metabolic rate, which feeds your calorie figures. A stale weight quietly skews several numbers, so keeping it roughly current matters more than logging it often. How often. Weekly is plenty. Daily is fine if you enjoy it — the app smooths it over the month anyway, because daily weight is noise and monthly weight is signal. Consistency beats frequency. Same time of day, similar conditions. Morning, after the loo, before breakfast is the classic.

Body fat

The percentage of you that is fat. Why bother. It is the missing half of Metabolic Age — weight alone will not produce that figure, because the calculation needs to know how much of you is lean mass. Where to get a number:
  • A body-composition scale, connected or read off manually
  • A gym measurement
  • A DEXA scan, if you have had one
If you have no way to measure it, skip it. A guessed body fat is worse than none, because it produces a Metabolic Age that looks like a measurement.

Today’s entries

Both show what you have already recorded today — the time and the value — with an edit pencil and a delete bin. Logging twice in a day is fine. The app takes the day’s latest for the figures that need one.

Before or after

Both drawers ask whether this was before or after a bowel movement. Not a joke: it genuinely moves the scale, and knowing which lets the app compare like with like. Answer if you know, skip if you do not.

A note on BIA scales

If your number comes from a smart scale, it is a BIA estimate and it moves with hydration. Weigh dehydrated after a hard session and body fat jumps without a gram of fat changing. Read the trend, not the reading.
