Health Connect is Android-only and not part of this iPhone round. This page
is here for completeness and for later.
What it is
Health Connect is Android’s equivalent of Apple Health — a hub that apps write
into and read from, so your watch, your scale and your running app all end up in
one place.
Why it is mentioned elsewhere
It comes up on the Fitbit page, because on Android it is the
better route for Fitbit sleep: it carries both “awake” and “restless” time,
where the Google Health route drops restless entirely.
That is not a choice available to you on an iPhone. Your Fitbit sleep arrives
via Google Health and will read slightly better than the Fitbit app shows.
For later
When the Workbench comes to Android, Health Connect becomes a main route, and
some things behave differently there:
- Skin temperature arrives, but not as a plain number
- Respiratory rate sits outside the sleep record rather than within it
- Blood oxygen has to be borrowed from Google Health
Not your problem in this round.
