What it is

Four sliders asking how you actually feel today. Not measured — reported.

The morning question

Separate from the four sliders, and the one thing you will meet without going looking for it. The first time you open the app each day, it asks a single question before anything else appears.
How was your sleep? — five options, one tap, done. It is deliberately awkward to dismiss by accident: tapping outside it and the back gesture both do nothing, because a half-awake thumb should not be able to throw the question away. Later skips it properly, and skipping costs you nothing else — the rest of the app carries on either way.
This is not a casual question. It is the standard sleep-quality item from the Consensus Sleep Diary, and it is the only input to the Restoration part of your Sleep score. No wearable can measure whether a night felt restorative — that is precisely why we have to ask.Answer on instinct. It is asked before any score is shown, on purpose, so that what you say is your own impression rather than a reaction to a number.

Why it exists

Because every other number in the app comes from a sensor, and sensors do not know how you feel. Two mornings can look identical in HRV, resting heart rate and sleep duration, and feel completely different. That difference is real, and the journal is the only place the app can learn about it.
This is one of the more valuable things you can give us. Checking Capacity means comparing what the engine predicted against how you actually felt — and without your answer, there is nothing to compare against.

How it is used

Your answers feed into the Capacity calculation for the day, alongside the overnight physiology.

How to use it

Honestly and quickly. First instinct, move on. It is not a diary and there is no value in deliberating. Skipping days is fine — as always, a gap is a real answer. Skipping the days you feel bad is not fine, because it biases exactly the comparison the journal exists to support.

Where it goes

Stored locally and synced to your account, alongside the rest of your day.
