The Data Sources tab. Where you connect things, and where you find out why something stopped.

What each card shows

One card per source, showing whether it is connected and when data last arrived. The “last arrived” line is the useful part. If a card says it last heard something four days ago, that is your explanation for whatever looked wrong on Today.

Connecting

Tap Connect on any source. Most open a browser window to sign in with that service, then return you to the app. Nothing to copy or paste, with one exception: Ottai setup involves copying a URL and a secret out of the app.

Reconnecting

Some connections lapse and need renewing. Google Health does this roughly weekly during testing, which is a limitation of testing-stage access rather than anything wrong. The symptom is distinctive: everything from that source goes blank at once, while other sources carry on. The fix is to tap Connect again, and the missing days fill in retrospectively.

Refreshing

There is a refresh control for pulling fresh data on demand — useful when you have just finished a session and want it to appear. Not usually necessary. The app collects in the background.

What to check when something looks wrong

1

Is the source still connected?

An expired connection is the commonest cause.
2

When did data last arrive?

If it is days ago, the problem is upstream, not in the app.
3

Has the device synced to its own app?

The Workbench reads what has already reached Apple Health, or Oura’s servers, or Polar Flow. If it has not got there, we cannot see it.
4

Is the right source nominated?

Adding a device rather than a source

Directly-connected Bluetooth devices live under Menu → My Devices. Different thing — see My Devices.
